About The Position

This is a part-time position at Chattahoochee Technical College where the instructor will teach subject areas covered in the GED Tests. Responsibilities include preparing lesson plans aligned with College and Career Readiness Standards, providing learner guidance, evaluating student progress, maintaining documentation and reports, participating in staff development, and maintaining a secure classroom environment. The work schedule is Wednesday evenings from 5 PM to 9 PM, with an additional 0.75 hours for planning, which can be virtual or in-person. While all instructional hours are virtual, occasional in-person training may occur on-site.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university preferably in education, math, science, business or a related field.
  • Teaching and classroom management experience at the secondary or post-secondary level.
  • Completion of a bachelor's degree from a college or university.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching classes using the Blackboard Learning Management System.
  • Experience working with GED/HiSET preparation students in an open-entry, multi-level classroom.
  • Experience in administering standardized tests.
  • Knowledge and experience in teaching content for GED/HiSET.

Responsibilities

  • Teaches subject areas contained in the GED Tests.

  • Evaluates students' progress in attaining goals.
  • Prepares and maintains required documentation and reports.
  • Plans, organizes and participates in Chattahoochee Technical College and Office of Adult Education staff development.
