About The Position

The Educational Services Commission of New Jersey: Nonpublic Dept. / Jersey City is seeking a Part Time 193/IDEA teacher for a 10-month position. This role involves providing instructional services to students, including analysis and assessment of student needs, scheduling, developing and implementing individual student educational plans, preparing progress reports, and conducting parent/guardian conferences. The teacher will also coordinate and communicate student progress with various stakeholders and demonstrate effective teaching strategies. The position requires maintaining professional competence, confidentiality, and a willingness to improve performance. Duties include planning and preparation, performance and student management, student progress and evaluation, and professional qualities and practices.

Requirements

NJ residence within one year from Date of hire.
Special Education Certification and/or High School Teaching experience preferred.
Classroom experience with students with Autism and/or Multiple Disabilities using Applied Behavior Analysis.
DOE TOSD/TOH Certificate.
New Jersey State Department of Education Certification.

Nice To Haves

ABA experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide instructional services to assigned students.
Analyze and assess student needs.
Schedule assigned students.
Develop and implement individual student educational plans.
Prepare written student progress reports as required.
Provide parent/guardian conferences as needed.
Coordinate and communicate student progress to program administrators, nonpublic school administrators, teachers, parents/guardians, and the sending resident district and staff.
Demonstrate a variety of teaching strategies in relationship to student learning styles.
Establish and maintain positive rapport and management in the classroom to enhance student behavior according to district policy and existing laws.
Maintain professional competence, confidentiality, and demonstrate a willingness to improve performance.
Participate in curricula programs to enhance student learning.
Perform all duties in accordance with administrative directives, procedures, regulations, and Board Policies.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designee.
