About The Position

This is an announcement for a Part Time Temporary Parks Maintenance Worker position within the Recreation Services department. The role is non-exempt and eligible for overtime compensation. The pay range is $19.00 per hour. This position is not eligible for all benefits but will accrue paid sick time. The deadline to apply is 06/05/2026.

Requirements

• Must be at least 17 years old at the time of hire
• Possess a valid Arizona driver's license
• Must be able to perform physical work outdoors under all weather conditions
• Evening, weekend and holiday work may be required depending on special events
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions
• Skill in performing grounds/facilities maintenance and landscaping tasks
• Skill in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
• Skill in using hand and power tools to maintain/repair buildings and facilities
• Skill in following oral and written instructions
• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with the general public and City employees contacted in the course of work
• Ability to clearly, concisely and effectively communicate in person and over the telephone
• Ability to effectively and safely perform required duties and to safely operate required equipment and city vehicle as needed
• Successful candidate will receive a post-offer, pre-employment background screening to include: Drug screening, Motor vehicle records check, Criminal background screening

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled tasks including maintenance of all park facilities
• Janitorial duties
• Restroom cleaning is a must
• Trash pickup
• Weeding
• Raking
• Painting
• Special events preparation
• Other duties as required
