About The Position

This is a Part Time - Temporary position in Recreation Services. The role is not eligible for all benefits but will accrue paid sick time. The pay range is $19.00 per hour. The FLSA status is Non-exempt, eligible for overtime compensation. The deadline to apply is 06/05/2026.

Requirements

Must be at least 17 years old at the time of hire
Possess a valid Arizona driver's license.
Must be able to perform physical work outdoors under all weather conditions.
Evening, weekend and holiday work may be required depending on special events
Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions
Skill in performing grounds/facilities maintenance and landscaping tasks
Skill in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
Skill in using hand and power tools to maintain/repair buildings and facilities
Skill in following oral and written instructions
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with the general public and City employees contacted in the course of work
Ability to clearly, concisely and effectively communicate in person and over the telephone.
Ability to effectively and safely perform required duties and to safely operate required equipment and city vehicle as needed.
Successful candidate will receive a post-offer, pre-employment background screening to include: Drug screening, Motor vehicle records check, Criminal background screening.

Responsibilities

Performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled tasks including maintenance of all park facilities, janitorial duties, restroom cleaning is a must, trash pickup, weeding, raking, painting, and special events preparation and other duties as required.
Incumbents receive general supervision from a Lead Maintenance Technician, Coordinator or Supervisor.
