About The Position

The City of Leawood is hiring a Parks Maintenance Worker to help maintain its parks, trails, athletic fields, playgrounds, and public spaces. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, seeing the results of their labor, and contributing to community spaces. While prior park maintenance experience is helpful, it is not required, as the city is prepared to train individuals with the right attitude, work ethic, and commitment to safety. Nice To Haves

  • Experience in parks, landscaping, or grounds maintenance
  • Experience with operating and maintaining mowers, trimmers, and other landscaping equipment
  • Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with air brakes and tanker endorsements

Responsibilities

  • Maintain turf, athletic fields, parks, trails, playgrounds, and other City properties.
  • Mow, trim, aerate, seed, fertilize, weed, and perform other turf-care activities.
  • Prepare athletic fields for practices, games, and special events.
  • Install, repair, and maintain irrigation systems.
  • Inspect and maintain playgrounds, park amenities, tools, and equipment.
  • Work safely and collaboratively to complete daily assignments and projects.
