About The Position

Under general supervision, Parks Maintenance Worker II's perform semi-skilled and skilled duties in the maintenance and repair of City landscapes and equipment and may provide limited work direction to other workers or helpers. Incumbents’ job functions will include, but are not limited to, planting and renovating lawns, trees, shrubs, flowers, grounds and related landscape features; operating light trucks, gang mowers, Dingo’s and other power-driven equipment; controlling weeds; applying fungicides, herbicides, and pesticides for control of harmful disease and insects; installing, modifying, maintaining, and repairing manual and automatic sprinkler systems; estimating labor and materials required; and keeping time and material records and preparing simple reports. The current vacancy exists in the Department of Public Works. Immediate and future vacancies will be filled from this eligible list for a period of three (3) months from the date the eligible list is created, with the option of extending that period at the City's discretion. If the examination process is suspended for this recruitment, the eligible list may be limited to three (3) months.

Requirements

• Possession of a High School Diploma or equivalent GED completion
• Two (2) years of full-time paid experience performing work related to parks or grounds maintenance
• Possession of a valid Class C California Driver's License

Responsibilities
