The purpose of this job is to perform skilled/manual work functions related to the maintenance and operation of the Parks & Recreation Department sports fields. Duties and responsibilities include preparing sports fields for practice and games, carrying out a year-round sports field maintenance program, establishing and maintaining sports field turf (natural and synthetic), performing janitorial/custodial duties, installing and repairing park structures and equipment, and performing a variety of tasks in the operation and maintenance of the department. Reporting relationships, work assignments, and work schedules may be subject to change to meet City needs or operational requirements. Attendance at work and the ability to get along with the public, supervisors, and co-workers are essential elements of this position. This position is considered an essential services position that requires work to be performed during extreme weather and in natural disaster events.
