Parks Maintenance Technician
About The Position
The Parks Maintenance Technician performs routine unskilled and semi-skilled grounds maintenance using hand tools and light- to medium-duty equipment. The work includes maintaining grounds and landscaping, cleaning and maintaining park facilities, and assisting with Town events and festivals. The employee works indoors and outdoors and may be exposed to extreme hot and cold weather, noise, moving mechanical parts, chemicals, dust, atmospheric conditions, and oils. Work is performed under the supervision of the Senior Maintenance Technician and is reviewed during progress and upon completion to ensure proper work methods and correct completion of assignments.
Responsibilities
- Operate equipment to cut grass, edge, mulch, and fertilize grounds.
- Prune and trim trees; weed and weed-eat; remove leaves and snow.
- Maintain flower beds, pots, hanging baskets, and other landscaped areas.
- Stock and clean park restrooms.
- Clean and maintain picnic areas and the band shell.
- Remove trash.
- Assist with setup, teardown, and cleaning during Town events and festivals.
