Parks Maintenance Student
About The Position
The Town of Orangeville is seeking a Parks Maintenance Student to maintain the Town’s parks, sports fields, and other Town-owned properties. Duties of this position include preparing grass areas and sports fields for safe use, including operating equipment related to sport field maintenance; opening, inspecting, cleaning, and closing of seasonal public washrooms; daily inspections of vehicles and equipment assigned to for performing various daily work tasks, picking up and maintaining garbage; painting as needed; and other duties as assigned. This position will require working various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and some statutory holidays. Normal hours of work for this position will be up to forty (40) hours per week. This position will begin as soon as possible, and will end on September 7, 2026.
Requirements
- Full-time enrollment in a post-secondary education program
- Valid Driver’s Licence in good standing
- Must be enrolled in full-time post-secondary education
- Police record check may be required
Nice To Haves
- Previous work experience in park maintenance or horticulture is an asset
- Preference given to those returning to full-time post-secondary studies in the fall
