About The Position

The Parks Laborer position is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and upkeep of park grounds. This role involves manual labor, often in outdoor conditions, to ensure the parks are well-maintained and presentable. The position requires the ability to operate various tools and equipment and to perform physically demanding tasks.

Requirements

• Valid Class “E” Florida Driver’s License
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to perform strenuous physical labor, sometimes during adverse weather conditions
• Ability to understand and follow oral instructions
• Ability to move at least 50 lbs

Responsibilities

• Mows grass
• Edges sidewalks and curbs
• Cuts grass and weeds
• Digs, hoes, and shovels dirt, sand, clay, and other materials
• Pulls weeds
• Digs up plants, shrubs, and trees and replants in other locations
• Lays sod
• Loads and unloads trucks
• Trims hedges
• Spreads fertilizer
• Replaces or installs street signs, digs holes
• Mixes cement, sets signs
• Cleans ditches and culverts
• Uses a variety of hand and power tools
• Performs related work as required
