About The Position

This posting is to fill two supplemental (no benefits) vacancies for the 2026 season. Applicants need only apply once to be considered. The positions involve performing maintenance tasks and duties related to Parks, Recreation and Golf Department operations, with increasing levels of skill, independence, and supervisory responsibility from Park Worker 1 to Park Worker 4.

Requirements

  • Park Worker 1: Any combination of training and experience which demonstrates knowledge and abilities for the assignment.
  • Park Worker 2: Three (3) month combination of training and/or experience which demonstrates knowledge and abilities for the assignment.
  • Park Worker 3: Six (6) month combination of training and/or experience which demonstrates knowledge and abilities for the assignment.
  • Park Worker 4: One (1) year combination of training and/or experience which demonstrates knowledge and abilities for the assignment.
  • Successful passing of a criminal background check.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a parks or outdoor work environment is preferred for Park Worker 2, 3, and 4.
  • Prior lead/supervisory experience may be required for Park Worker 3 and 4 positions with these responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Performs limited skill maintenance tasks including janitorial services, refuse collection, mowing turf, and pruning shrubs.
  • Operates county-owned vehicles as part of job duties.
  • Performs semi-skilled maintenance tasks, including working with hand-held tools and operating small/light duty power equipment.
  • Tows small equipment with a work truck.
  • Performs tasks requiring considerable skill, including conducting complex special projects and performing a variety of skilled trades and maintenance tasks.
  • Operates medium duty equipment (e.g., trucks up to 25,000 GVW, compact pickups) and riding equipment.
  • Diagnoses and conducts minor repairs to power and hand tools.
  • May assign, direct, and coordinate the work of others.
  • Performs skilled construction, maintenance, and equipment operation tasks.
  • May plan, schedule, and coordinate project or facility maintenance assignments.
  • Assigns, directs, and coordinates the work of others.
