About The Position
The Cowichan Valley Regional District is seeking a temporary part-time Parks Construction Assistant for the Parks & Trails Division within the Operations Department. This position is currently set to end on December 31, 2027, with the possibility of extension or conversion to a casual role. The Parks Construction Assistant will perform a variety of semi-skilled tasks related to the construction, repair, and upgrading of park structures and amenities.
Requirements
- Secondary School graduation or an equivalent education, training and experience
- A minimum of one (1) year of related experience is required, preferably in a parks operations/construction environment
- WHMIS certification -- provided by the employer
- First Aid, Level 1 with CPR C
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License
- Basic Chainsaw Operator Training
Responsibilities
- Assists in a broad range of semi-skilled duties in the construction, repair and upgrade of park structures and amenities.
