About The Position
The Township of Oro-Medonte is currently seeking applicants for an 8-month position for a Contract - Parks & Facility Labourer for the Operations and Community Services Department. Reporting to the Supervisor, Parks & Facilities, the Contract Parks & Facilities Labourer shall be responsible for providing a variety of custodial and general maintenance at the Township Arena.
Requirements
- High school diploma
- 1-year related experience in custodial facility maintenance
- Knowledgeable in the Ontario Health and Safety Act, WHMIS
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 kilograms, climb ladders and stairs
- Valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s License
- Satisfactory Driver’s Abstract
- Vulnerable Sector Screening
Responsibilities
- Maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, sanitation and safety of buildings, and ensuring the physical security of the facilities.
- Collecting and disposing of garbage, compost and recyclable materials.
- Responsible for the sweeping/snow removal of walkways, and emergency exits during shift, salting/sanding as required.
- Set up and take down of meeting and event rooms as required.
Benefits
- Salary commensurate with experience and education (2026 wage schedule range of $22.95-28.56 per hour)
