About The Position

Support the daily operations of the Parking & Transportation Department through parking enforcement, parking technology, fleet management support, and equipment management. Maintain accurate operational data, assist with departmental system processes, and perform the setup, activation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of parking equipment and technology. Work collaboratively with Parking & Transportation staff to promote compliance, operational efficiency, and exceptional customer service across campus.

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum of one year of experience in parking enforcement, a public safety field, or in a position with similar duties and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct walking patrols of campus parking lots and facilities.
  • Issue parking citations and enforce University parking regulations.
  • Monitor parking areas and report hazards, damaged equipment, and maintenance concerns.
  • Assist with disabled vehicles and provide battery jumps when appropriate.
  • Support daily parking operations to ensure compliance and customer service standards are met.
  • Perform routine inspections of parking equipment to ensure proper functionality.
  • Assist with the setup, programming, activation, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of parking equipment and technology.
  • Coordinate the installation, relocation, and removal of parking equipment for special events and operational needs.
  • Maintain inventory of parking equipment and departmental assets.
  • Coordinate or report equipment repairs as needed.
  • Create and maintain vehicle maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure regular inspections of departmental vehicles and oversee preventive maintenance requirements.
  • Maintain vehicle inventory records and schedules for departmental vehicle use.
  • Follow all University policies, regulations, and applicable laws regarding vehicle operations.
  • Assist in evaluating and documenting opportunities to improve the University's fleet program.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining vehicle routes and operational procedures.
  • Enter, verify, and maintain accurate records within parking management systems and departmental databases.
  • Monitor and process permits, citations, and parking system transactions to ensure accuracy.
  • Collect, maintain, and analyze parking utilization and enforcement data to support operational planning and reporting.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to improve departmental processes and operational efficiency.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
  • Support parking and transportation operations for athletic events, commencement ceremonies, orientation programs, and other University events.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule to meet departmental operational needs.
  • Assist in developing situational procedures and operational plans for parking-related incidents or special circumstances.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
