About The Position

The Parking Lot Attendant helps keep the store parking lot clear of shopping carts and vehicle obstructions while providing friendly, service-oriented interactions with guests. The role includes cleaning and maintaining the parking lot, greeting guests, handling trash and spills, bagging groceries when needed, and sometimes helping guests transport groceries to their vehicles. Attendants must help maintain a safe and sanitary environment, handle items carefully, and follow Company policies and procedures. Work is generally performed outdoors, with ongoing exposure to outside temperatures and weather.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years of age.
Must be at least 21 years of age to drive for Company business under the BGC Business Driver Policy.
Ability to remain courteous with customers at all times.
Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form with customers and partners.
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Must attend work as required.
Typically involves on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

Maintain a friendly, guest service-oriented attitude.
Clean the parking lot to maintain its appearance and condition.
Greet guests entering or leaving the store.
Empty trash cans and spot-clean spills and breakages around the parking lot.
Bag guests’ groceries as necessary.
Assist guests with transporting groceries to their vehicles when needed.
Move shopping carts from the parking lot to designated areas.
Handle objects gently to avoid damage to items, people, vehicles, or property.
Help maintain a safe and sanitary working and shopping environment.
Identify potential hazards and remedy them or place appropriate warning signs or devices as soon as reasonably possible.
Report potential hazards that cannot be remedied immediately to a supervisor.
Comply with Company policies and procedures.
