Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • One (1) year of related experience may substitute for education.
  • Must pass a thorough criminal history screening and have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Driver's license required, Class A CDL preferred.
  • Previous related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operates vehicles and powered equipment; completes mowing and snow removal; applies chemicals and spreads fertilizers, herbicides and soil amendments; mulches tree beds, plants trees and flowers; aerates and seeds landscaping; trims and prunes shrubs and trees; repairs soil erosion.
  • Performs various tasks requiring equipment, vehicle, and tool operation; uses a variety of small and large tools and operates a variety of light and medium duty equipment and attachments including tractors, trucks, dump trucks, skid steer loader, water trucks, excavator, power broom, and snow removal equipment; performs general and routine maintenance of light and medium duty equipment.
  • Performs various arboriculture tasks such as tree removal, pruning, planting and maintaining newly planted trees requiring the use of chainsaws, pole saws, chippers, stump grinders, and aerial lifts.
  • Performs basic maintenance duties such as plumbing, electrical, basic construction; maintains asphalt and concrete trails; builds, fixes, and maintains fencing; completes basic preventative maintenance on buildings and equipment.
  • Completes paperwork, timesheets and equipment logs using computerized system; follows purchasing card guidelines.
