This position functions as a Front Desk Clerk at White Oak Lake State Park, serving as the primary point of contact for visitors and helping ensure a safe, welcoming, and well organized park experience. In this role, the employee greets guests, provides information about park amenities and rules, and assists visitors in person, by phone, and by email. The position handles campground and facility reservations through the Itinio computer system; checks guests in and out; verifies identification; collects fees; issues receipts; balances a cash drawer; and completes daily opening and closing procedures. The employee communicates park rules, reports emergencies, updates visitors, and relays important information to park staff. Additional duties include daily cleaning and maintenance of the visitor center and visitor center bathrooms, performing boat rentals, selling live bait, completing rounds in the campground, cleaning Visitor Center animal displays, feeding Visitor Center animals, and other duties as assigned. The Park Specialist is responsible for assisting in the daily maintenance, visitor services, and conservation efforts within Arkansas state parks. This role ensures that park facilities, landscapes, and public areas are well-maintained, safe, and accessible for visitors. The Park Specialist also provides customer service, educates guests on park regulations, and supports recreation programs to enhance the overall visitor experience.
