About The Position

In a pilot program, monitors the maintenance and repair of the grounds and facilities of municipal buildings, parks, open spaces and recreation areas; performs related work as required. This role involves monitoring the maintenance of parks, centers, and open space areas, ensuring proper and timely maintenance and repairs. The specialist will also monitor the setup and takedown of equipment for various park and recreational programs, as well as the operation and simulation of park facilities. Additionally, the role includes coordinating the development and implementation of recreational and special events and working independently on assigned projects.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • One (1) year of responsible experience in parks and recreation.
  • Basic knowledge of the principles and practices of public buildings and park facilities.
  • Ability to work independently and to complete daily activities according to work schedule.
  • Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with contractors and vendors.
  • Possession of a valid State of Michigan Driver’s License.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
