About The Position

The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) is seeking personable, ambitious, and reliable professionals to join the team as seasonal Park Resource Rangers at the Kettle Creek State Park Complex. This role is an extraordinary opportunity to play a vital role in enhancing park operations and outdoor recreation, while maintaining safe conditions for visitors. The dedicated efforts of the Park Resource Ranger will help protect natural resources and ensure every guest has a positive experience. This position supports the safe and enjoyable use of Kettle Creek State Park Complex by assisting visitors and performing essential public safety duties.

Requirements

  • Possession of an active motor vehicle license.
  • Ability to obtain valid certification in standard first aid and adult, child, and infant CPR approved by the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or equivalent within 60 days of employment.
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions.
  • Pass a background investigation.
  • Satisfactory criminal history reports including PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist visitors by providing information about facilities, schedules, history, and environmental features.
  • Respond to emergencies and administer first aid as needed.
  • Patrol the park by vehicle, boat, bicycle, or foot to monitor safety and explain park rules.
  • Inspect park buildings and structures for cleanliness, serviceability, and safety hazards.
  • Cover the front desk, prepare reports, issue permits, and maintain daily activity logs.
