About The Position

The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) is seeking a seasonal Park Resource Ranger for Colonel Denning State Park Complex. This role is crucial for enhancing park operations, promoting outdoor recreation, and ensuring visitor safety. Requirements

Possession of an active motor vehicle license.
Ability to obtain valid certification in standard first aid and adult, child, and infant CPR approved by the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or equivalent within 60 days of employment.
Meet the PA residency requirement.
Ability to perform essential job functions.
Pass a background investigation, including PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
Complete Child Abuse, Criminal and Federal Criminal History Checks around the time of hire and thereafter every 5 years.

Responsibilities

Provide information about park facilities, recreation, history, and natural features to visitors.
Respond to emergencies, administer first aid, and assist in search and rescue operations.
Inspect trails, boundaries, buildings, and structures to identify hazards and ensure compliance with park rules.
Register visitors, complete reports, answer calls, and utilize computer systems for reservations and data entry.
Give presentations to schools, civic groups, and other organizations on park rules, programs, and environmental features.
Collaborate with other state and federal agencies for incident management and to support enforcement activities.
