About The Position

As a Park Maintenance Worker with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources at Tyler State Park, you will help keep one of Pennsylvania's most popular parks in top shape. You will work with tools, equipment, and park staff to keep park facilities clean, safe, and welcoming for visitors. This position offers rewarding work in a scenic outdoor setting. Your efforts will help visitors enjoy safe and enjoyable park experiences. This position supports the upkeep of park facilities and grounds to provide a safe, clean environment for visitors. You will perform maintenance, repair, and customer service tasks throughout Tyler State Park.

Requirements

  • One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Be able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Make basic repairs to buildings, restrooms, and structures using hand and power tools
  • Mow grass, trim weeds, clean grills, pick up litter, and maintain trees and shrubs
  • Operate and maintain mowers, trucks, and other park equipment
  • Clean restrooms, shower houses, offices, and other buildings and replace needed supplies
  • Assist with cement work, form building, and simple masonry tasks
  • Provide friendly information and help to park visitors when needed
