About The Position

As a Park Maintenance Worker with the Department of Conservation & Natural Resources, you will support the daily care and upkeep of Oil Creek State Park. This position allows you to work with tools, equipment, and skilled staff members while learning valuable maintenance skills. Your efforts will help visitors enjoy safe, clean, and well-maintained spaces. This is a great role for anyone who takes pride in practical work and enjoys being outdoors. This position supports the daily maintenance of park grounds, buildings, and facilities to keep Oil Creek State Park safe and attractive for visitors. The work involves active, hands-on tasks that help preserve the natural and built features of the park.

Requirements

  • One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Able to perform essential job functions.
  • Submission of criminal history reports will be required for a conditional offer of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Mow grass, trim brush, remove snow, and complete other upkeep tasks around park areas
  • Clean restrooms, washhouses, and other park buildings to maintain visitor comfort
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, tractors, and other equipment safely and correctly
  • Help skilled workers with basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and building repairs
  • Load and move materials such as sand, gravel, and debris using appropriate tools
  • Drive trucks, assist coworkers, and complete tasks that support daily park operations
