About The Position

The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking candidates to fill the position of Parent Accountability Court Coordinator 2. This role is within the Division of Child Support Services (DCSS) and reports to the PAC Supervisor. The DCSS program promotes parent accountability and self-sufficiency while reducing the public responsibility for providing financial and medical support to children. This position is located in Winder, GA (Barrow County).

Requirements

  • Associate degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of job-related experience; or one (1) year experience at the lower-level PAC Coord 1 (SSP200) or position equivalent.
  • Ability to use customer service skills to include active listening and sound judgment.
  • Excellent oral, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, and/or standard software applications typically use in a corporate environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral science (criminal justice, psychology, sociology, etc.) or a business degree (management, public relations, hospitality, marketing, etc.) from an approved, accredited college or university and two (2) years’ work experience within a government judicial system as a parole/probation officer, court counselor/advocate, officer of the court, etc. for low-risk offenders.

Responsibilities

  • Liaison between the Division of Child Support Services and the assigned judicial circuit
  • Communicates with clients and other constituents via telephone, email correspondence and direct contact to ensure that support obligations are met.
  • Provide advocacy and accountability strategies to the program participants to promote sustainability to pay their child support obligation.
  • Promotes Problem Solving Case resolution efforts and performs the core work and activities to include enforcement of orders, attending court hearings, addressing case management alerts, responding to customer inquiries, conducting weekly meetings with program participants.
  • Maintains consistent documentation on participants program status.
  • Identifies and meets with employers to secure employment for program participants.
  • Develops and maintains a comprehensive public relations process through the assessment of needs and referrals to resource providers who can provide necessary support and resources to address identified barriers.
  • Responsible for maintaining weekly and monthly reports as required per circuit.
  • Maintain required training as required by the agency.
  • Performs other professional responsibilities as assigned.
