The Parent Support Worker will assist the Maternal Child Health Program by improving health outcomes for pregnant women and families with infants and young children, by focusing on culture, role-modeling and healthy teachings by linking community resources. This role requires workers to be organized, flexible and adaptable. The position involves working 7.5-hour shifts, with potential overtime. The worker will provide in-home support, including basic infant care, infant stimulation, fostering healthy child development, self-care and coping as a parent, offering a hands-on approach to learning and supportive mentoring as a peer. The role also involves advocating, referring, and acting as a liaison for families, and working closely with Health Care Professionals and the Public Health Nursing & Health Team to provide and deliver programs and services.
