About The Position

The Worker provides services to children and their families referred from County Children and Youth agencies as well as Philadelphia Community Umbrella agencies. For County-referred cases, the role is that of a Foster Care Worker, providing case management services in consultation with the referring County worker to support the overall goal of permanency for each family and child. This includes ensuring foster resource homes are in compliance with regulations and re-certifying them by their anniversary date. For Community Umbrella Agency (CUA) referred cases, the Worker provides non-casement services to the foster resource parent caring for the child/youth placed in their home, ensuring compliance with regulations and supporting the resource parent's care of the child/youth.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in the field of Social Work or a related field.
• One year experience working with children and families in a professional setting is required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in child welfare, casework, or child care is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide case management services in consultation with the referring County worker for foster care cases.
• Support the overall goal of permanency for each family and child.
• Ensure foster resource homes are in compliance with regulations.
• Re-certify foster homes by the anniversary date of their initial approval.
• Provide non-casement services to foster resource parents caring for children/youth placed in their homes for CUA referred cases.
• Support the resource parent’s care of the child/youth placed in their home.
