Currently, we are seeking qualified applicants for the position of First Steps Parent Educator in our Bristol and Lebanon Virginia offices. This role involves providing in-home services to pregnant women and families with Medicaid-eligible children up to the age of 6. Services include screenings, goal setting, linkage to appropriate agencies and resources to meet family needs, education to parents on child development, safety, and parenting using the Parents as Teachers curriculum, and assistance with transportation when needed. A Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or Human Services is preferred. Requirements
- Knowledge of child development, prenatal and postnatal care.
- Knowledge of community resources.
- Ability to work with families from various socio-economic backgrounds to facilitate family growth, education, and development.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong teamwork mindset.
