About The Position
The Parent Educator is vital in continuing MRIs mission to promote growth, independence and self-worth by providing personal visits to participating families homes, creating individualized family support plans and documenting developmental milestones. The Parent Educator also leads parent groups at MRIs Childrens Center, completes required documentation and is responsible for intervening in crisis situations. MRI is looking for someone with a positive attitude, willingness to learn and an impulse to give back to the community!
Requirements
- Must supply transcripts of an Associate’s degree in early childhood education or a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, psychology, social work or a related field, which includes course work in child development.
- Must have a minimum of one year of supervised experience in an early childhood setting.
- Must have the physical capability to pull, push, turn, stoop, kneel, reach, and bend.
- Must display the ability to work flexible hours, including occasional Saturdays and/or weekends.
- Must have reliable transportation to conduct agency-generated services/ business and/or to transport infant/families as needed
- Must maintain a valid Illinois Driver's License and a good Motor Vehicle Record
- Must have auto insurance
