Responsible for the safe and courteous operation of a public transit vehicle. Provide transportation for senior citizens and persons with disabilities. Operate vehicle in a safe, smooth and defensive manner at all times; obey traffic regulations. Fuel and prepare vehicle for daily service; thoroughly inspect; fill fluids; spot clean; wash vehicle as needed; and report damage. Report mechanical concerns and service requirements to maintenance personnel. Perform fare collection and complete daily reports. Follow direction of dispatch, adhere to trip manifest, and use two-way radio in a professional manner. Project positive image to the public and provide exceptional customer service while communicating with peers and the public. Adhere to passenger safety, sensitivity, and confidentiality standards. Respond to public complaints and questions in a professional manner. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
