The Parasitology Technician I is responsible for collecting, processing, and preparing fecal samples in a veterinary diagnostic laboratory. The role includes specimen handling and load preparation, maintaining equipment and work areas, following standard operating and safety procedures, and supporting laboratory efficiency and quality. Associates may cross-train in multiple specialties and consult senior peers on non-complex Parasitology tasks while learning through experience. The scheduled shift is 11:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m., Monday through Saturday, with two scheduled days off each week. Weekend coverage is required, and specific workdays may vary based on business needs. Extended hours may be needed. The target pay is $18.80 per hour; pay decisions take relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training, and budget into account. The position is performed in a laboratory environment where potential biohazards are mitigated through mandatory PPE. The role receives general instructions for routine work and detailed instructions for new assignments, with close to moderate supervision.
