About The Position

Assist the Special Education teacher with classroom activities specifically designed to meet the individual needs of students. This is a ten-month position, with a beginning salary at Grade Three on the Classified Hourly Salary Placement Schedule. Employee benefits are provided in accordance with Board policies.

Requirements

• Associate of Arts degree or two years of post-secondary education (60 credit hours) from an accredited college or university.
• Immunization record (MMR) and tuberculosis (TB) test.
• A valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card is required as a condition of hire and continued employment.

Responsibilities

• Present skills reinforcements or guide independent study activities to individuals or small groups of students as directed by the teacher.
• Become familiar with instructional materials and learn how to use them properly.
• Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students.
• Perform duties or requirements outlined in a student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP).
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Principal/Administrator of Special Programs.
