About The Position

Make a difference every day by joining CCRES as a Paraprofessional through our partnership with Newport School District! This role offers PAID CREDENTIALS, eliminating upfront costs for necessary clearances & TB screening. The hourly Special Education Paraprofessional pay rate to work on assignment in Newport School District is $18/hour. This position includes 5 days of Paid Time Off (prorated based on hire date). The Special Education Paraprofessional will work on student days following the academic calendar year. Special Education Paraprofessionals will support students in one of the following areas: Autistic, Emotional, Instructional, Learning, and Life Skills. There are openings for the '26-'27 School Year, including Elementary: Kindergarten Support (1) and Secondary: Middle School Learning Support Para (1).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • With less than 2 years post secondary, must pass for "highly qualified" as mandated by NCLB
  • PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance
  • PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance
  • PA Department of Education FBI
  • TB Screening
  • Education Documentation - Diploma OR Official Transcript

Nice To Haves

  • Associates or Bachelors Degree - preferred
  • Prior public-school experience and/or working with school-aged children in a licensed, certified, or registered provider setting - preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide instructional, behavioral, and/or physical support to individual students or small groups, including on-task prompting, social skills development, and self-care assistance.
  • Support students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans by implementing accommodations and strategies as directed.
  • Reinforce learning concepts, classroom instruction, and skill development to help students achieve their educational goals.
  • Work one-on-one or in small groups to provide targeted academic and behavioral support.
  • Assist students in developing organizational, communication, problem-solving, and independent living skills.
  • Guide students through classroom activities, monitor participation and progress, and provide feedback to instructional staff.
  • Promote positive student behavior and help maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, specialists, and school administrators to support student success.
  • Supervise students during lunch, recess, arrival/dismissal, transitions, and other non-instructional school activities.
  • Foster positive relationships with students while encouraging independence, confidence, and social-emotional growth.
