About The Position

Rite of Passage Team is hiring for a Paraprofessional at The Arkansas Juvenile Assessment and Treatment Center (AJATC) in Bryant, Arkansas. AJATC is a secure residential program for at-risk male and female youth, located on 110 acres just outside of Little Rock, AR. Through our trained programming for staff, AJATC promotes a normalized high school experience, offers a safe environment and provides opportunities for positive change, as well as providing the unlimited potential for achievement and growth for students and staff. Our campus features residential student dormitories, on-site school and library, vocational training program, chapel, gymnasium, medical and an outdoor recreation area. Requirements

Possess an Associate’s Degree OR Have obtained an active Parapro Certification
Be at least 21 years of age
Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug, physical, and TB test
Be able to pass a search of the child and adult abuse central registry
Must meet the requirements to become an ROP eligible driver, including having a valid Driver's License

Responsibilities

Works as an active team member of the Education Department, providing instructional services to students.
Takes direction from certified staff to deliver and assist in instruction of classes.
Implements effective classroom management strategies.
Conducts small group instruction, as well as individual instruction to students, as necessary.
Tracks attendance, maintains weekly grades, and ensures student grades are available and posted.
