About The Position

Youth Haven Services is seeking a compassionate and motivated Paraprofessional to join our Day Treatment Facility in King, North Carolina. As a Paraprofessional, you will provide direct care and rehabilitative services to children and adolescents in accordance with each client's Person-Centered Plan. Working under the supervision of a Qualified Professional (QP), you will support students in developing social, behavioral, emotional, and daily living skills while maintaining compliance with Youth Haven Services policies and North Carolina state guidelines. Services are provided at our campus facility, with work hours based on the school calendar and program needs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required for Paraprofessional applicants.
  • 0–1 years of related experience required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sound judgment and professional decision-making.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with youth, families, and team members.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems.
  • Ability to take direction while demonstrating initiative and professionalism.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field preferred.
  • AP-qualified Bachelor's degree welcomed.
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, or individuals with behavioral health needs preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision and support to students throughout the school day.
  • Implement interventions and goals outlined in each client's Person-Centered Plan.
  • Assist youth in developing coping skills, social skills, behavior management, anger management, and independent living skills.
  • Support students in achieving Individualized Education Program (IEP) and academic goals.
  • Deliver skill-building activities focused on daily living, socialization, adaptation, symptom management, and community functioning.
  • Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Follow all Youth Haven Services and school policies, procedures, and professional standards.
  • Maintain appropriate classroom behavior and utilize approved intervention strategies.
  • Perform NCI-compliant physical interventions only when necessary and only after less restrictive interventions have been exhausted.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
