About The Position
The Cumberland School Department is seeking personnel to work with our students. The job will involve assisting in classroom duties under the supervision of the classroom teacher, supervising students during lunch and recess, and assisting students in moving to different locations within the school building. Other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher, building administrator, and/or the Superintendent of Schools may also be part of the role. The position requires a willingness to attend professional development, be Safety Care trained, and work cooperatively as a member of a classroom team.
Requirements
- Teacher Assistant/Paraprofessional Certification
- Willingness to attend Professional development to enhance skills in this area as needed
- Willingness to be Safety Care trained
- Able to work cooperatively as a member of a classroom team of professionals
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of and experience with behavioral and emotional supports
Responsibilities
- Assist in classroom duties under the supervision of the classroom teacher
