Under the direction of the school principal and supervision of a teacher, the Paraprofessional (Teacher's Aide) is responsible for assisting the teacher in the care and instruction of children in a classroom setting. This role requires recognizing and supporting the unique Catholic Mission of the school by speaking, acting, and providing instruction assistance consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church. The individual must govern their professional and private life in strict accordance with Catholic morals and principles, demonstrate lived Gospel values, and help build the school's faith community. The position involves assisting with student supervision, including lessons and field trips, supervising parent helpers, assisting with the school lunch program and playground supervision, communicating effectively with students, organizing learning materials, motivating student learning, assisting in evaluating student progress, maintaining a consistent disciplinary approach, and helping to maintain a functional and pleasant learning environment. Professional responsibility, sound judgment, and a clean personal appearance are expected at all times.
