About The Position

KIPP New Jersey is seeking a dedicated and passionate Paraprofessional to join their team. This role is crucial in guiding students towards college and beyond, requiring dynamic leadership both inside and outside the classroom. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to student success, a love for working with students, families, and the community, and a track record of developing future leaders.

Requirements

Have a minimum of 48 semester hours from an accredited institution
ABS training
IEP knowledge
Hold high expectations for each student
Exhibit positive rapport with students
A desire to have fun every day

Responsibilities

Provide small group or 1:1 instructional assistance in the form of remediation and repeated practice.
Assist in classroom preparations and strategies for reinforcing instructional materials and skills according to individual student needs.
Implement and track progress of behavior intervention plans (BIP) with fidelity.
Conduct attendance, maintain daily student progress records, and program tracking.
Transition students to and from all related service sessions (speech/language, occupational therapy, physical therapy, group/individual counseling, academic small groups).
Assist students with physical or mental disabilities with activities of daily living for the purpose of maximizing their ability to participate in school or learning activities.
Work with teachers to implement an integrated curriculum and student-centered environment.
Participate in the development and execution of individual, classroom-wide, and/or school-wide culture supports for students in accordance with school values.
Follow all applicable safety rules, procedures, and regulations governing the proper manner of assistance for all students, including those with disabilities or other special needs.
