About The Position
We are seeking a dedicated Paraprofessional to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist teachers in providing a nurturing and educational environment for students. This role involves supporting classroom activities and helping students with various needs. This position is responsible for working with a diverse student population in need of consistency, structure, and emotional support and will be assisting with both academic skills and behavioral management. Yellowstone Academy educates a population of youth in both Residential care and in a Day Treatment setting, with paraprofessionals/teacher assistants serving both populations. We are looking for candidates that are passionate about the growth and development of children in our care. Candidates are started at $17.75/hour. The hours of a Teacher's Assistant are Monday through Friday 7:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. and employees are expected to be present during all working hours. There is a minimum age requirement of 20 years old for this position. Tuition assistance is available after 6 months of employment for those interested in pursuing postsecondary education.
Requirements
- Experience working with children in a daycare, private school, or similar setting
- Familiarity with lesson planning and classroom management techniques
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents
- Knowledge of behavior management strategies

- Background in special education is a plus
