About The Position

This role involves providing emergency medical services. The position requires individuals to be adaptable, possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, and demonstrate emotional maturity to handle stressful situations. Flexibility in scheduling and department assignments is also necessary.

Requirements

• High school graduate, HiSET, or GED equivalent required.
• State of Montana Paramedic or Registered Nurse with recent Certificate of Equivalency or Physician Assistant licensure required (for Paramedic role).
• State of Montana Licensure required (for EMT role).
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS are required (for Paramedic role).
• Current BLS Certification is required (for EMT role).
• NRP and EVOC is required at the earliest offering / within one year (for Paramedic role).
• EVOC certification within one year of employment date (for EMT role).
• Current Montana State driver’s license and excellent driving record is required.
• Demonstrated physical strength and ability to carry more than 75 lbs (for Paramedic role).
• Demonstrated cognitive, organizational, and emotional maturity to effectively manage multiple tasks, stresses, deadlines, difficult situations and/or customers.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills necessary for effective, non-judgmental, and empathetic patient care, customer, and staff relations.
• Demonstrated ability for reading comprehension, Writing composition and Arithmetic.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt and receive feedback and a changing environment, which requires flexibility in scheduling and department assignments.

Nice To Haves

• 2 Years of practical experience in Emergency Medical Services preferred (for Paramedic role).
• Associate of Applied Science or equivalent is preferred (for Paramedic role).
• National (NREMT) certification preferred (for Paramedic role).
• Critical Care Transport endorsement within 18 months (for Paramedic role).
• 1 Year of practical experience in Emergency Medical Services or related is preferred (for EMT role).
• National (NREMT) certification preferred (for EMT role).
• Completed EMT endorsement courses are preferred (for EMT role).
• PHTLS Preferred (for Paramedic role).

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency medical services.
• Participate in annual refresher training and continuing education to maintain licensure.
• Adapt to a changing environment, which requires flexibility in scheduling and department assignments.
• Effectively manage multiple tasks, stresses, deadlines, difficult situations and/or customers.
• Provide compassionate, non-judgmental, and empathetic patient care, customer, and staff relations.
• Complete medical reports and perform basic arithmetic.
