About The Position

Provides advanced life support care to the sick and injured and safely transports customers of all ages to a medical facility. In addition, the paramedic assists with other services and events as directed by North Memorial Ambulance Service.

Requirements

Successfully completed paramedic training program from an accredited institution required.
Current Minnesota or Wisconsin Paramedic Certification or be able to obtain within 60 days of hire date.
American Heart Association ACLS and BLS Certification or Amercian Red Cross ALS and BLS Certification upon hire or within 14 days.
Valid State Class D driver's license in the state of residency with an acceptable driving record.
American Heart Association or American Red Cross PALS Certification.
ICS-100, ICS-200 and ICS-700 or be able to obtain within 60 days of hire date.
Current Minnesota Paramedic Certification or obtain within 60 days of hire date. (For Air Care Paramedic)
Current Wisconsin Paramedic Certification or obtain within 6 months of hire date. (For Air Care Paramedic)
National Registered Paramedic. (For Air Care Paramedic)
American Heart Association ACLS and BLS Certification or American Red Cross ALS and BLS Certification upon hire or within 14 days. (For Air Care Paramedic)
Flight Paramedic Certification (FP-C) within 12 months from date of hire. (For Air Care Paramedic)
American Heart Association and American Red Cross PALS Certification upon hire or within 14 days. (For Air Care Paramedic)
ICS-100, ICS-200 and ICS-700 or be able to obtain within 60 days of hire date. (For Air Care Paramedic)
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification or obtain within 6 months of hire date. (For Air Care Paramedic)
Maximum weight of 215 pounds in uniform. (For Air Care Paramedic)
Valid State Class D driver's license in the state of residency with an acceptable driving record. (For Air Care Paramedic)
Demonstrated ability to organize, problem solve, make decisions during emergency situations and work independently.
Possess or quickly acquire knowledge of the street and highway system within the service area.

Nice To Haves

Associate of Science degree preferred.
Previous ambulance experience preferred.
Previous advanced life support experience preferred.
For Air Care Paramedics, three (3) years of ALS experience as a Paramedic required.
For Air Care Paramedics, prior flight experience preferred.
