About The Position

Provides initial emergency measures and continuum of care to neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients within the Paramedic’s level of training. Works in the pre-hospital environment at the Paramedic level established by state guidelines. In the hospital setting, works under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or physician, as credentialed by the hospital Medical Executive Professional Committee. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Holds a current driver’s license with an acceptable driving record under Ambulance Service Fleet Safety Policies.
• Completes EVOC or EMD course as required by the operating state (Class F).
• Holds BLS certification within 14 days of hire.
• Holds ACLS and PARAMED credentials.

Nice To Haves

• Certified in Mississippi and licensed in Tennessee.
• Obtains PALS or PEEP within one year of hire date.
• NALS and PHTLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs as a Paramedic for the Ambulance Service and Emergency Department.
• Completes Ambulance Service forms in accordance with EMS and hospital policies and procedures.
• Maintains ambulances and equipment.
• Participates in the EMS Performance Improvement Process.
• Provides patient-focused care.
• Participates in activities designed to improve health care delivery.
• Completes assigned goals.
