About The Position

Provides initial emergency measures and continuity of care for neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients within the Paramedic’s level of training. Works in the pre-hospital environment at the level established by state guidelines. In the hospital setting, works under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or physician, as credentialed by the hospital Medical Executive Professional Committee. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Hold a current driver’s license with an acceptable driving record under Ambulance Service Fleet Safety Policies, including completion of EVOC or EMD course as required by the operating state (Class F).
• Hold BLS certification within 14 days of hire.
• Hold ACLS and Paramedic credentials.
• Be certified in Mississippi and licensed in Tennessee.

Nice To Haves

• PALS or PEEP certification within one year of hire date.
• NALS certification.
• PHTLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform as a Paramedic for the Ambulance Service and Emergency Department.
• Complete Ambulance Service forms in accordance with EMS and hospital policies and procedures.
• Maintain ambulances and equipment.
• Participate in the EMS Performance Improvement Process.
• Provide patient-focused care.
• Participate in activities designed to improve health care delivery.
• Complete assigned goals.
