About The Position

AMR is hiring Paramedics in Monterey County, California, for full-time or part-time opportunities. Paramedics deliver compassionate, high-quality service and advanced patient care to customers. The position pays $37.11–$59.42 per hour; the stated rate applies to 12-hour shifts averaging 42 hours per week. AMR is part of Global Medical Response (GMR), whose teams provide medical care primarily through emergency and patient relocation services. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
California State Paramedic License.
California State Driver’s License.
BLS, ACLS, PALS, PEPP, BTLS, or PHTLS certification.
Driving record compliant with company policy.
Pass the Physical Agility Test.
ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800.
California Ambulance Driver’s License.
Medical Examiner’s Certificate.

Nice To Haves

Some work experience, preferably in healthcare.

Responsibilities

Assess each call situation and determine an appropriate course of action while following progressive Paramedic protocols.
Use Paramedic skills and medical equipment and procedures—including a defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids—to provide advanced medical care.
Communicate with patients and their loved ones, providing information and reassurance about the care being given.
Act as Paramedic team leader and take responsibility for scene and unit management as needed.
Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
Work collaboratively and professionally with allied health and public safety personnel and fellow Paramedics.
Participate in community programs to maintain AMR’s image and establish strong community relations.
