About The Position

AMR is hiring a full-time Paramedic in San Mateo County, Burlingame, California. The role delivers compassionate, high-quality basic and advanced patient care. Paramedics assess emergency calls, provide care using progressive protocols and medical equipment, communicate with patients and loved ones, and may lead the team and manage the scene and unit. The role also drives an ambulance on 911 responses and works collaboratively with allied health and public safety personnel. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered with a commitment; restrictions apply. The stated pay range is $34.76–$49.99 per hour, and the rate applies to a 12-hour shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• State Paramedic License.
• Ambulance Driver’s License.
• Medical Examiners Card.
• State Driver’s License.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS or PEPP certifications.
• ITLS or PHTLS certification; PHTLS required by 1.1.25.
• Driving record in compliance with company policy.
• Pass the Physical Agility Test.
• Some work experience, preferably in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Assess each call situation and determine an appropriate course of action using progressive Paramedic protocols.
• Use Paramedic skills, medical equipment, and procedures—including a defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids—to provide advanced medical care.
• Communicate with patients and their loved ones to provide information and assurance about care.
• Act as Paramedic team leader and take responsibility for scene and unit management as needed.
• Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
• Work professionally and collaboratively with allied health and public safety personnel and fellow Paramedics.
• Participate in community programs to maintain AMR’s image and establish strong community relations.
