About The Position

St. Mary's Medical Center in Blue Springs, Missouri, is seeking a full-time Paramedic, also referred to as an Emergency Care Technician (ECT), Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech), or Emergency Room Technician (ER Tech). The Paramedic assists with emergency department care, including starting IVs, performing EKGs, monitoring vital signs, supporting airway management, and contributing to trauma care, CPR, and patient transport. The role uses prehospital field skills while following hospital protocols and working closely with nurses and physicians during emergencies. Shifts are variable, with 12-hour shifts listed as 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM.

Requirements

Current and valid paramedic license issued by the State of Missouri.
Current BCLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintained thereafter.
ACLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintained thereafter.
PALS and/or ENPC certification within 30 days of hire and maintained thereafter.
At least one year of experience as a paramedic in EMS or an acute-care hospital setting.

Nice To Haves

Emergency room experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform clinical procedures, including IV insertion, EKG acquisition, and continuous vital-sign monitoring, under supervision.
Assist with airway management, oxygen therapy, suctioning, advanced airway procedures, and resuscitation efforts.
Provide wound care, apply splints, assist with suturing, and respond as part of the team during medical emergencies.
Transport patients to diagnostic areas or inpatient units and assist with room turnover and preparation.
Maintain clinical readiness by stocking essential supplies and performing point-of-care testing as permitted by hospital policy.
Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and EMS personnel to support trauma care, high-acuity patient management, clinical procedures, and transitions of care.
