About The Position

Superior Ambulance Service is hiring Paramedics for multiple locations in Illinois. The company provides emergency medical services and scheduled medical transportation. Paramedics provide safe transportation and quality medical care to sick and injured individuals within the scope of state EMS regulations. Compensation is $26.50–$35.00 per hour, with rates based on years of experience and full-time scheduled templates.

Requirements

Hold NREMT (National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians) certification or a current state license; pending licensure is also accepted.
Be able to provide medical care at the EMT or Paramedic level while safely transporting patients.
Have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record, and be able to safely operate a vehicle in daytime, nighttime, and inclement weather.
Pass a pre-employment interview, physical and lifting examination, drug screen, and background check.
Attend company-provided training and a driving course.

Responsibilities

Provide appropriate patient care within the scope of training and applicable EMS regulations.
Transport patients safely and efficiently, including reading maps and accurately identifying street names, house numbers, and business addresses.
Assess patients and accurately communicate their conditions to other medical professionals.
Write accurate reports describing patients’ conditions, medical histories, and treatment provided.
Complete appropriate billing documentation.
Keep the vehicle sanitary and monitor fluid levels and gauges.
