About The Position

Superior Ambulance Service is hiring EMTs for openings at multiple locations across Illinois. EMTs provide safe transportation and quality medical care to sick and injured individuals within the scope of state EMS regulations. The company provides emergency and scheduled medical transports. Superior Ambulance Service began in 1959 and is now a locally owned emergency medical services provider operating across Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin.

Requirements

NREMT certification or a current state license, or a license pending.
Ability to provide medical care at the EMT or Paramedic level while safely transporting patients.
Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
Ability to safely operate a vehicle in daytime, nighttime, and inclement weather conditions.
Pass a pre-employment interview, physical and lifting examination, drug screen, and background check.
Attend company-provided training and driving course.

Responsibilities

Provide appropriate patient care within EMT training.
Transport patients safely and efficiently, including reading maps and correctly identifying street names, house numbers, and business addresses.
Assess patients and accurately communicate their condition to other medical professionals.
Prepare accurate written reports describing patients’ conditions, medical histories, and treatment provided.
Provide appropriate billing documentation.
Maintain vehicles in sanitary condition and monitor fluid levels and gauges.
