About The Position

This role involves identifying, intervening, and stabilizing ill or injured patients under the direction of a physician and/or Registered Nurse. The Paramedic will initiate and implement interventions based on transport team protocols, monitor and communicate patient condition and treatment, and provide population-specific education to patients and families. Additionally, the role includes inspecting and maintaining equipment to ensure the safety of the transport team, patients, and the public.

Requirements

Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Paramedic specializing in Flight credentialed from the International Board of Specialty Certification obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Paramedic credentialed from the Florida Emergency Medical Services obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsibilities

Identify, intervene, and stabilize the ill or injured patient under the direction and in collaboration with a physician and/or Registered Nurse.
Initiate and implement interventions based on transport team protocols.
Monitor, record and communicate patient condition and treatment, as appropriate.
Provide population specific education to the patient and family about the patient's illness and therapeutic interventions.
Inspect, maintain and care for equipment to ensure safety of the transport team, patients and public.
