About The Position

This role is for a Paramedic at a Freestanding Emergency Department (ED) located in Castleton, IN. The Paramedic will provide basic and advanced life support treatment, care, and evaluation of patients. They will identify, intervene, and stabilize ill or injured patients under the direction of a physician and/or Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include initiating and implementing interventions based on transport team protocols, monitoring and communicating patient condition, and providing population-specific education to patients and families. The role also involves inspecting and maintaining equipment to ensure safety.

Requirements

Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
Emergency Medical Tech credentialed from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Paramedic credentialed from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Paramedic license required
3+ years of experience

Nice To Haves

Drivers License credentialed from the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles preferred.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide basic and advanced life support treatment, care and evaluation of patients.
Identify, intervene, and stabilize the ill or injured patient under the direction and in collaboration with a physician and/or Registered Nurse.
Initiate and implement interventions based on transport team protocols.
Monitor, record and communicate patient condition and treatment, as appropriate.
Provide population specific education to the patient and family about the patient's illness and therapeutic interventions.
Inspect, maintain and care for equipment to ensure safety of the transport team, patients and public.
