About The Position

Baptist Health is seeking a part-time Paramedic for its Transport EMS team at Baptist Health Hamburg and Lexington. The role provides advanced life support and direct patient care to patients of all ages who are ill or injured. Care is provided under the direction of designated emergency medical providers or according to approved EMS medical protocols when transporting patients. The Paramedic follows department policies and the applicable scope of practice while maintaining the environment of care.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalency.
Active Paramedic license through the Kentucky Board of EMS at the time of consideration.
BLS for Healthcare Provider certification issued by AHA or ARC.
PALS certification.
ACLS certification.
Other certifications and specialty training as required by the Kentucky Board of EMS.
Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Provide patient care within medical director-approved department protocols and the state scope of practice.
Recognize, respond to, and appropriately communicate changes in patient condition.
Complete required documentation and patient care reports thoroughly and accurately within the required timeframe.
Provide care appropriate to the emergency population and maintain the environment of care.
Perform ambulance transportation services within the Paramedic scope of practice.
Set priorities when transporting multiple patients.
Ensure resources are available and coordinate the plan of delivery.
Maintain familiarity with each fleet vehicle to support safe and smooth operation.
Ensure the ambulance is clean, stocked, and response-ready at the beginning and end of each shift and before every service request.
Ensure proper vehicle maintenance, equipment readiness, and readiness and use of ALS gear.
