About The Position

The Cook is responsible for providing high-quality meals to residents, guests, and staff. The role involves preparing food according to the daily planner and SLC standard recipes, working the food line during mealtimes, and maintaining food safety and kitchen sanitation standards. The Cook also supports resident and guest satisfaction by responding promptly to needs and requests and maintaining a positive, professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, and coworkers.

Requirements

ServeSafe Certified.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English.
Have or be willing to obtain necessary food handling and sanitation licenses.
Basic computer skills.
Entry-level proficiency with Excel and Word.
Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
Ability to solve practical problems and handle variables in situations with limited standardization.
Ability to maintain a positive and friendly demeanor toward residents and coworkers.

Nice To Haves

Experience in production cooking and/or preparing therapeutic diets is preferred.
